Are you up from the adventure of a lifetime? Strap in, we are about to embark on an adrenaline-filled journey from the bustling street of NYC to the magical realm of Disney World in Florida - all in less than 24 hours!! It’s time to embrace the excitement and make this epic day trip. I planned this trip with friends and we are still talking about it months later. It was the Best Disney Day Ever!!
Planning Phase:
To ensure a successful and smooth trip, thorough planning is essential. First, check the weather forecast and choose a day in the near future with clear skies and no major travel disruptions. Book your flights in advance and to maximize your time at Disney World book the earlies flight to Orlando International Airport, (MCO) available, typically around 6-6:30am. Most importantly, make sure to log into the flight WIFI before 7am to secure Genie+ and Virtual Queues and Lightning lanes for your favorite attractions to bypass long queues and make the most of your short visit.
Arrival at Orlando:
After a relatively short flight, you'll touch down at MCO. From there, hop on your taxi of choice and head to the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC) where you will get on your fist ride, the Monorail or the ferry directly to Magic Kingdom.
Time at Disney World:
As soon as you arrive, waste no time immersing yourself in the enchanting world of Disney. With your Genie+ in hand, conquer the most popular attractions like Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, or Tower of Terror. Meet your favorite characters, enjoy delicious meals, and take in the musical parades – there's something for everyone to enjoy!
Personally, on our trip having Genie+ was key. You can start booking your first Lightning Lane as early as 7am. We booked 1 lightning lane and purchased 2 individual lightning lanes (Tron and Guardians). In our short time at the parks we were able to do at least 6 additional rides, watched the Disney Festival of Fantasy, and we did 1 meet and greet withing 2 parks. Some of our rides included: Big Thunder, Dumbo, and Soring.
Note: You can meet Mickey Mouse with little to no wait in the Magic Eye Theater (near the Imagination attraction) in Epcot.
Return Journey:
As the sun begins to set, bid farewell to Disney World and head back to Orlando International Airport. Book the last available flight back to NY typically 10pm. You will miss the fireworks, but as you board your return flight to NYC, cherishing the memories you've made during this incredible whirlwind adventure. Take a moment to reflect on the magic of Disney and the thrill of this day trip.
Embarking on a day trip from NYC to Disney World and back is a true adventure, packed with extraordinary experiences and cherished memories. From the moment you step foot in the parks to the second you return home, this adventure will ignite your sense of adventure and remind you of the magic that surrounds us. So, whether you're a Disney fanatic or simply seeking an adrenaline rush, don't hesitate to take on this epic journey – one that will surely be etched in your heart forever.
Safe travels and may your day at Disney World be truly magical!
